POQUET create songs soaked in dark funk, heavy soul, jazz rock and funkadelia, with story lyrics and fierce arrangements. Our first project, released July 20th 2019 on deluxe 180g double vinyl, features very special guest musicians and vocalists including Grammy Award winner Van Hunt, Alan Evans (Soulive), Chris Eldred, Riley Stone-Lonergan, Julian Marc Stringle, Mike Mann, Loz Garratt, Toussaint Liberator (Soulive), Oli Ballantyne, Lauren Kinsella (Snowpoet), Stinkin' Slumrok, Donnie Sundal (Boukou Groove), Tina V, Soriyah McKay, Ellie Lovegrove, Aisling Iris, and Jon Kenzie.

‘STRANGE FILM’ EP - POQUET
We made this record between 2019 - 2023. It took us many re-writes, re-recordings, re-mixes, re-masters and re-spends to eventually say what we wanted to say.
Featuring world renowned artists such as Grammy nominee Kokayi (Nate Smith/ Terri Lyne Carrington), Toussaint Liberator (Soulive), Charles Jones (John Mayer/ Vulfpeck/ Scary Pockets), Lauren Kinsella (Snowpoet) and Lilli Unwin.
The themes in this music are definitely a reflection of those years whether it be in terms of loss (creatively and or financially), anger, anxiety, insomnia, change (for better or worse), depression, extreme right and left wing politics or the death of loved ones.
Although it seems that there are many painful feelings and themes expressed above, we still wanted a positive thread of hope going through it with a strong sense of humour and exploration.
